It was decided to place on record a

proposal made by Professor Ride and

supported by the Ilon. Dr. Selwyn-Clarke

that the above resolution should not be

held to preclude the re-opening of the matter should circumstances change at any

future date.

Resolved (nem con)

(a) that the Court is of opinion that

more effective use of existing facilities

could be made if the staffs of the Univer-

sity Department of Pathology and the

Government Bacteriological Institute were

organised to work in co-operation;

(b) that the Court is of opinion that it would be economical and advantageous if the

Biology Department of the University and

the Government Botanical and Forestry

Departments were organised to work in

co-operation;

(c) that the Court is of opinion that if

Government should decide at any time to

establish a Department of Zoology, it would

be in the interests of all concerned if

arrangements could be made with Government

for the head of such department to be

employed to teach Zoology at the University.

The Court approved of the following action

taken by the Council.

The Council gave authority to notify the

vacancy of the post of Professor of

Obstetrics and Gynaecology on the terms as
